Heuristic Evaluation & Stakeholder Interviews
The redesign process began with a heuristic evaluation of the platform’s user experience, alongside stakeholder interviews with product managers, developers, and key users. This dual approach provided a clearer understanding of pain points, workflow inefficiencies, and usability challenges from both a technical and user perspective. Navigation was unintuitive, making it difficult for users to locate essential functions efficiently. Buttons lacked clear differentiation between states, leading to uncertainty in actions such as executing tasks or modifying inputs. Additionally, there were no confirmation messages to inform users that an action had been successfully completed, increasing confusion and the likelihood of errors.
Redesigning Information Architecture & Wireframing
With these findings, We redesigned the information architecture, restructuring the platform for a more intuitive flow and clear interaction cues. I then created low-fidelity wireframes, which were presented to stakeholders—including the Product Manager, developers, and Executive Director—to gather feedback. Due to legacy system constraints, some changes were iterated upon to balance usability improvements with technical feasibility.
Competitive Analysis for Industry Insights
To gain a broader perspective, I conducted a competitive analysis, studying B2C platforms like Smallcase, Coinbase, Zerodha, Angel Broking, and Amazon. These insights helped identify best practices in simplifying complex workflows, improving affordances, and enhancing user feedback mechanisms.
High-Fidelity Prototyping & Final Implementation
Once the structure was validated, I developed high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes, ensuring every button, state, and navigation pattern was distinct and intuitive. UI components were designed to be scalable, interactive, and consistent, improving efficiency and reducing user confusion. After multiple refinements, the final prototypes were presented, approved, and prepared for implementation, paving the way for a more seamless and user-friendly experience.
